GENERAL INFORMATION
As known, it is very difficult to install and operate a fire detection system in such buildings which are dusty, dirty, greasy, humid and/or have too much air circulation. Spot detectors or ray transmitting/ receiving detectors which we widely use and apply may be inadequate for fire detection system solutions in such buildings which have adverse ambient conditions. A “Fire Detection System with a Linear Heat Detector” is an ideal solution for fire protection in such buildings.

Such industrial buildings as highway tunnels, subway tunnels, thermal electric power generation plants, metal processing plants, petrochemical plants, chemical production and distribution plants, fuel-natural gas generation and distribution plants, MG cable galleries, iron and steel mills, etc. may be evaluated as examples where a “Fire Detection System with a Linear Heat Detector” may be applied. The Linear Heat Detector and the panel which evaluates the data from the detector constitute the basic infrastructure of the system. It is possible to install and operate the system by integrating spot detectors and buttons into the same system via the panel. Thanks to such technological flexibility, complete solutions may be produced for the fire detection systems in such buildings which have special ambient conditions – contains special sections.

INTRODUCTION OF TECHNOLOGY
Although the Linear Heat Detector which is a patented product of the American company Protectowire and the panel which evaluates the data from the detector constitute the basic infrastructure of the system, spot detectors and buttons may also be installed and operated on the same panel. Thanks to such technological flexibility, complete solutions may be produced for the fire detection systems in such buildings which have special ambient conditions – contains special sections.

The linear Heat Detector which has a steel core and two conductors (2 x 0,8 mm cross-section) and whose outer insulation resembles a cable structure free from halogen in terms of overall appearance has types which have different values of detection temperature and which are manufactured with an insulation sleeve suitable for different environments. A low current is continuously circulated via the linear heat detector by the detection panel. When the heat value on the contact surface of the heat-sensitive polymer insulating material which insulates the two steel-cored conductors exceeds the detection temperature (e.g. 65°C) in any manner whatsoever, the two conductors shall shift to short-circuit position and shall result in an alarm detection from that spot. As the distance in meters of the short-circuit spot where an alarm occurs may be seen on the screen on the panel, the source of fire may be precisely detected.

This heat detector may be used for an ideal solution for the detection of a temperature rise of such a dimension which shall constitute a fire risk in such environments which contain such adversities as oil, dust, dirt, humidity, air circulation, etc. Mode of installation may vary by the environment where fire shall be detected.

Highway tunnels, subway tunnels, thermal electric power generation plants, metal processing plants, petrochemical plants, chemical production and distribution plants, fuel-natural gas generation and distribution plants, MG cable galleries, iron and steel mills, etc. may be evaluated as examples included in this scope.

CERTIFICATES AND APPROVALS
The product possesses FM, UL, NFPA approvals and certificates. As it is a product technology which has not yet been included into the European Union’s EN 54 standardisation legislation, no EN certificate has been obtained but the related procedures have been commenced.
